How to set-up your Net Meeting
From your desktop, right click on the Start button, then choose Programs, then select Accessories, then Communications, then Net Meeting. The first time you run this selection it will ask you for some registration information. It does not register any of this with Microsoft, it uses it to identify you in a Net Meeting. To join a net meeting enter the IP address of the persons' computer that you want to join in the meeting.
There are several variables about your net meeting that you can select, including desktop sharing, whiteboard, security, audio and video options. These are pretty straight forward and should not be difficult to set-up. In order to determine what the other computer's IP address is you would run from the start button, the "WINIPCFG" and look for the IP address, if you are dialing up, it will be in the PPP Adapter section, if you using a network connection then it will be the IP address for your network adapter then use the down arrow and find the Adapter Address for you network..
IMPORTANT: If you are using an internet sharing device, and it is providing a firewall and non-routable IP addresses, you will not be able to join a net meeting. |
